 Okay I'll check next I get the chance.  I can assure you though the syntax
 I posted above used to work.  In fact all I have to do to get it to work
 is to revert the pgsql2shp (to I think early 1.5 or 1.4).

 Though I guess you are right in theory it should never have worked though
 it did :).
