 So, this seems to be fixed with r6857.
 It should be back-ported to 1.5 (no idea about 1.4).
 I didn't update the NEWS file as if it'll get into next 1.5 it would not
 be a NEWS for 2.0.0...

 Could anyone else take care of the backport and NEWS file please ?
