Hi Elvis,
Thanks for the patch :) I'm not exactly sure why the binary I/O
functions weren't implemented, possibly because there was some
discussion as to the final format at the time.
Probably the best thing to do would be to create an issue on PostGIS
trac, upload the patches there and assign the ticket to pramsey.
