[postgis-devel] shortestline for geography ?

Would it be hard to implement St_Shortestline with buddies for
geography?
Do the algorithm you use give the "closestpoint" or do you get the
distance at once? I guess some rewriting would be necessary to carry
both the points and the distance out of the function like in geometry.

I see that sql server is implementing shortestline as ShortestlineTo for
both geometry and geography.
