 I have tested three distinct datasets.
 Always they return

 >com.vividsolutions.jts.io.ParseException?: Unknown WKB type 48

 The first is a line-2D dataset that has
 ZM flags = 0

 the second is a line-3D dataset that has
 ZM flags = 3

 and the third is a poly-2D that has
 ZM flags = 0.
