Side note. can we for once please get rid of that line 55 on
loader\Makefile.in
nls_build = @USE_NLS@
It's caused me nothing but grief and I always have to comment it out to
avoid this bug

Subject: loader why do I have two sets of executables
I'm a bit puzzled with the new loader setup.
It seems I have 2 sets of executables.
One set is in /loader which are all much smaller and are dysfunctional,
though looking at the dependency walker I don't see why they should be.
The other set in a new folder called /loader/.libs which seem to be the set
I'm used to having and are functional?
I thought maybe the smaller ones would depend on a dynamically linked
library, but I don't see one being generated.
Thanks,
Regina
