 The documentation at
 [http://postgis.refractions.net/docs/using_postgis_dbmanagement.html#Manual_Register_Spatial_Column]
 indicates that geometry(srid) is a valid call, however it appears that
 only geometry(type,srid) or geometry(type) are valid.
