Please save them. Then check if they are valid ST_IsValid.
If they are try to further reduce them (drop some vertices).
Whenever you're tired to do it report them in a ticket on
http://trac.osgeo.org/geos

I'll have to further reduce the dataset till I find the smallest
sample reproducing it, then check with JTS etc.etc.

Long way to figure things out.
Also, make sure you're using latest release of GEOS.
