[postgis-devel] Confusing output from configure for GDAL?

Well this is a new Debian stable installation without any GDAL packages 
installed - I compiled GDAL 1.9.0 from source myself. That's the 
surprising part, because if it is trying to tell me there is an error 
then normally newer versions of libraries have all of the functions 
required...
