Hi Paul,
Symlinking /bin/mkdir to /usr/bin/mkdir allows it to compile.
Seems to be a ./configure thing??
make check works fine, everything passes, core, raster & topo
& the Oceania OSM dataset loads & works fine with imposm/mapserver.
Thanks for all the effort you all put in!!!
I need to start playing with topo & raster... !!!

I wonder how it's finding /usr/bin/mkdir... I don't see any hardcoded reference to it in the code.
