Hi Devs,
We have the potential for active maintenance of the Java chunk of the
distribution, and I would like to give Baris Ergun commit privs to the java
sub-tree. He's already provided a couple of patches that look fine, and most
importantly is thinking about the implications of his changes in the large
before applying.
Please give me a vote on that (the alternative is continuing Java branch
bitrot)

I have updated the issue with Alternative approaches. Your version number
concern still floating. According to preferred approach we can continue to
discuss.

Please see my ticket comment. I'm worried about having a version number
flapping along in there.

Hi Paul;

I have generated a git patch for the git mirror of svn-trunk. It basically
removes unnnecessary lines in pom.xml and prepared against sonatype guide.
If you can review and apply this patch and the next coming related patches
quickly It would help my communication with Sonatype guys. Basically the mvn
clean install still works for everyone checking out the codes. The changes
will be affecting only publishing to Central rep so I hope it wont break
anyones build etc.. And also publishing to Central rep is not active at the
moment so it wont break anything on that path since it is already broken.

I have already opened a Sonatype Jira ticket for publishing of postgis-jdbc
jars to Sonatype Central repository.

Thanks.
