Mohit, the storage type you don't have to "build" it.
All types are built, you only have to specify which
type has to be used by the operatoc class.
The problem you were having is that you tried to use
a storage type of "box2df" while associating the opclass
to the type "geometry". The error message told you this
mixing of types is not supported by the "spgist" access
method. So you just have to pick one type and use it for
both storage type and target type.
Picking "geometry" would make the index bigger.
Picking anything else would make usage a bit convoluted as you
would not be able to index a "geometry" column but you'd have
to index the output of a function applied to it, returning the
choosed type.
I'd go with "box2df" for a start.
