Ah yes indeed I see Paul put in a pull request

I'm just saying, lets not lose any functionality we've already got in changing and lets not make patch submission a 20 step process like PostgreSQL does.  
We aren't that big that we need to be so formal about it.  Let's enjoy our teen years while we have them.

You should be clearer on what you mean by "accept pull requests from github" as we are already accepting them.

Note that github does not _allow_ to remove the PR feature, so even postgresql guys are in fact "allowing" to create those PRs. Only, they ask you to follow a separate patch submission procedure in order for them to be merged (boils down to sending a patch to a mailing list).

I'd actually love to know the email address of patch contributors, which is something you get via email but don't get via a pure github PR, but so far we've not being enforcing that, right ?
