For users of postgis from git it's not a big loss, for users of the 
release tarballs it's a bigger loss.

They need to go out of their way to get the changes from the git repo.

So I'm not a fan of this proposal, but as long as NEWS contains 
everything relevant to me as packager and to users of the package I can 
live with it.
