Yes was thinking we do a 3.1.0alpha1, followed by 3.0.1

And then all the other stable branched -- with the 2.3.11 being the final release of 2.3

I understand that what follows this 3.1-alpha1 would be new tags in stable releases (3.0.1, final release of 2.3...), right?
