So, I saw this go by in the chat, and would also love to see an email about this subject on devel.

You perhaps think "Paul is so aloof, he never chats with us", but a lot of it is just if I engage in a chat I'm signing up for an unstructured hour of back'n'forth potentially, while an email can be handled asynchronously and in a big, mental blob: starting thinking hard about problem, write out answer, move on. I love a good chat, but it can really chew up a lot of time and sometimes I'm just on the clock for something else, so I have to not participate.

All that to say "I saw something about the use of "ANY" in upgrade scripts go by on the chat and would love for that discussion to migrate over here".

I big part of that desire is my belief that we should be taking that feature need/request upstream to PgSQL central and getting it put in up there, not continuing to tape things onto our home-grown upgrade management functions. If we can move 'extension--ANY--x.y.x.sql' upstream, that will help not just us but everyone else who actually manages a real project with more than a handful of versioned releases.

What is the nascent plan for ANY?
