I thought it went by a polling model though I see it does support webhooks and github integration which we never set up.
When you click Automatic Update of source files, it shows the links, but I see many are pointing at https://raw.githubusercontent.com/postgis/postgis/svn-trunk/

No wonder it's so confused.

I'll fix those up.
