PostGIS 3.5.0 APT

Yah but Debian unstable always has everything wonderful like the new shiny GEOS and I suspect new shiny GDAL too. Cause well they are always looking ahead until they ship.

I was under the impression that apt.postgresql.org still followed the 1 version of PostGIS for a specific version of PostgreSQL.

I already saw them announce PostGIS 3.4.3 with PostgreSQL 17 and an ubuntu 22.04 which I just upgraded to 24.04, got stuck with PostGIS 3.4.3.

Here is the output of my ubuntu noble SELECT postgis_full_version();

POSTGIS="3.4.3 e365945" [EXTENSION] PGSQL="170" GEOS="3.12.1-CAPI-1.18.1" PROJ="9.4.0 NETWORK_ENABLED=OFF URL_ENDPOINT=https://cdn.proj.org USER_WRITABLE_DIRECTORY=/tmp/proj DATABASE_PATH=/usr/share/proj/proj.db" GDAL="GDAL 3.8.4, released 2024/02/08" LIBXML="2.9.14" LIBJSON="0.17" LIBPROTOBUF="1.4.1" WAGYU="0.5.0 (Internal)" RASTER

Cause that’s what postgresql-17-postgis-3 gave me.

It seems like they settled on PostGIS 3.4.3 ☹

I think we were too late to release so they went with that. I’d like to be proven wrong.

Hi guys.

Anyone have an idea when 3.5.0 will hit PostgreSQL APT?
