Comment:

 This is actually an enhancement as strk noted in #1802. We don't currently
 support interruptablility of built-in functions (just GEOS ones).  Pushing
 to 2.2.  We can try to do in 2.1 if it doesn't require too much
 rearrangement of the code base.
