Comment:

 The false negative resturn from ValidateTopology was fixed in master
 branch (3.7.0) by implementing edge crossing checks internally:
 [d03570c8597d49e4ca382283b3385c22f52a5b7a/git]

 I think we can then close this ticket as nothing can be expected when the
 underlying topology is invalid (as it was in this case).
