 Contraddicting comment:3 the _newer_ version `3.7.0dev
 3.7.0rc1-20-g655fc78a1` actually gives the `curve not simple` error. It
 was the *older* `3.7.0dev 3.6.0rc2-398-gcf949fa33` giving the `geometry
 intersects edge` error.
