 It is expected that a face can have holes, why do you say it should have
 no holes ?

 The figure in the screenshot you attached is perfectly fine for what I can
 see:

 I'll check the SQL to try at understand the ST_Union vs ST_Collect issue
 (the former nodes, the latter does not)
