Hi Dave & listers,

Just thinking out loud, but since the new GEOS spatial functions are
going to be such a core part of PostGIS, why not make GEOS, stats
collection, and use of postgresql 7.2+ compulsory for the next release
of PostGIS? And also is it worth modifying PostGIS to store geometries
internally in GEOS format, so they don't have to be converted between
two different internal formats depending upon whether a GEOS/non-GEOS
function is in use?

Thoughts?

Mark.
