Andreas, you can always use ogr2ogr for SHP->pgsql too.  It's included 
with Openev_FW:
http://dl.maptools.org/dl/gdal/openev/ grab OpenEV_FW_174.zip.  You may 
ogr2ogr around to do other conversions as well.
