[postgis-users] Help with install

hmmm... the default make install sent it to:
/usr/local/pgsql/lib/libpostgis.so.0.8 
 
It seems to work fine when I hard code the pathname in the sqls, how do I det
$libgis to /usr/local/pgsql/lib/? Setting it as a standard environmemnt
variable didn't seem to work.
