[postgis-users] problems installing postgis

i try install postgis following the instructions into the ufficial 
manual... at the end i tried to do /psql -f lwpostgis.sql - d database/, 
and it said:

    lwpostgis.sql: No such file or directory

 and /psql -d database -f spatial_ref_sys.sql/ said:

    spatial_ref_sys.sql: No such file or directory


where is wrong? im using a simply mepis debian based distro.
