Dear PostGIS users,
1.1.0 release date is set to December 21 (a Christmas gift).

The new release will bring in:

	- New geometry editors and constructors (including LRS)

	- A big improvement on transform() queries by use
of SRS data caching - curtesy of Mark Cave Ayland

	- Full autoconf-based build, dropping PostgreSQL
source tree requirement - with help from Alex Bodnaru

	- Support for GEOS C-API (no more postgis rebuilds
	  on GEOS upgrade!)

	- Many JDBC interface improvements

	- Draft implementation of topolgy support

It would be very helpful if you could give the online CVS
snapshot a try during this weekend to smash eventually pending
bugs as before release.

Test would go along the line:

	1) get http://postgis.refractions.net/postgis-cvs.tar.gz
	2) unpack # WHEREVER
	3) cd postgis-cvs
	4) ./configure
	5) make
	6) make install # will replace
	7) make test

It is highly recommended upgrading GEOS to the 2.2.x branch if you
didn't yet, as that would test the new GEOS C-API connector as
well.

Thank you.
