[postgis-users] Open Access to State-Collected Geospatial Data

Speaking of data...

Does anyone have shape files or a DB that shows the boundaries of
different types of maps such as TPC, ONC, JOG and WAC/ WAG? These are
different types of common maps that should have world coverage. It
would be nice as we build a community data set to be able to select an
area by clicking on a basically empty map and use the attributes of the
shape file to determine the map that we want or better yet to stretch a
box on a map and determine the maps that we want to chip portions out of
for a particular project.

If people have portions that they want to / can share I can combine them
into a single coverage and send the combined project back out.

Bruce

Dear PostGIS users,

If you ever felt the frustration of not finding enough
Geospatial data to store into your preferred DBMS extension,
please take a moment to read (and eventually signup) the
"Open Access to State-Collected Geospatial Data Manifesto"
avilable here:

	http://www.okfn.org/geo/manifesto.php

If you agree with the statements therein contained and want
to help out, consider translating the manifesto to other
languages (send translation to me in case you do).

Thanks for your attention!
