[postgis-users] doesn't see postgresql

Hi Steffen,
to install postgis-1.1.1, from a postgis-1.1.1 directory
# .configure
I get about the first 30 checks for things needed for postgis successfully
"..yes"
then
checking for pg_config... no
configure: error: PostgreSQL is required by PostGIS
