Hi Eric,

What's happening is that because I couldn't find a way to detect a
successful execution of createlang, it assumes that any output from the
createlang executable is an error. It appears as if your logging level
in postgresql.conf is set to a very high level (outputting a line for
every SQL statement) and this is enough to make the installer think that
something has gone wrong and cause it to stop.

You should be able to complete the installation by temporarily
decreasing the log level of your PostgreSQL 8.2 server, re-running the
PostGIS installer, and then turning the log level back up again.

Kind regards,

Mark.
