Those are no definitions from PostGIS, PostGIS itsself is only a
backend, and does not contain any graphics / layouting code.

I don't have any idea where those are defined.

You might ask the original author of the email which toolbox / framework
/ environment he used.

Via google, I found a reference to them on the gdal list, maybe those
people can help you further.
