Not sure off the top of my head, but it strikes me as being a good idea
to recreate the database from scratch. If you keep the old database, you
can always use pg_dump -t to manually export tables and pg_restore to
re-import them into the new one. However, it's only really worth doing
if the datasets are quite large - it's much easier to simply re-run
pgsql2shp / ogr2ogr against the new database if you have the source data
around...
