[postgis-users] get and restore data via internet

Hey Paul,

As you can see I've misinterpreted your needs... :]

I'm not aware of any such solution without developing a custom one (like in
PHP/Ajax)

Perhaps our fellow 'listers' can shed some light into this matter. I, for
one, would like to know. :P

Since I'm a programmer to the bones my first instinct is to 'play the piano'
whereas quite often solutions are there for the taking. :D

Kind regards,

Pedro.

Hi,

Isn't Openjump a desktop application?

I don't want my visitors on my homepage to have to install any program but
the browser, if they want to add or change the geographical data.

Kind regards,

Paul

Hey Paul,

I might have misinterpreted your needs but...

Did you consider OpenJump? (http://www.openjump.org)

You can read and write from/to Postgresql/postgis databases (remote and
local) and save the layers to shapefiles.

HTH,

Pedro.

Hi,

Do anyone know of a sever applet that can get geographical data from Postgis
Database and save it as a shapefile on the local disc.

Then after update or adding data it should be possible to restore the data
in the PostGisDatabase over the internet.

Kind regards,
Paul
