Regina, I may have misspelled the word intersection in
the email post but it is correct in my sql, and it
doesn't work.   I am using the spatial query examples
from the Postgis manual, section 4.6.2.5 

What I am trying to do is, using VMAP data, clip the
rivers file to Brazil country boundary.
