[postgis-users] Problem installing PostGIS

I get the following error with these

psql:/usr/share/pgsql/contrib/lwpostgis.sql:44: ERROR:  incompatible library
"/usr/lib/pgsql/postgis.so": missing magic block
HINT:  Extension libraries are required to use the PG_MODULE_MAGIC macro.
