[postgis-users] creating polygon with convex hull

I am trying to convert user input in the form of a polyline into a
polygon, closing it automatically.  I am thinking that if I get a
non-closed polyline, and apply the function boundary() to it, that this
will return the line segment needed to close it. Is this a proper
understanding of this function?
