Hi David
I've been using postgis extensively for disease mapping (not clustering as
yet - although that is something that interests me as well). My research
area is in environmental health and in developing exploratory spatial data
analysis tools for investigating associations between health outcomes and
exposures to environmental contaminants. I have a (rather
crude) implmentation of a method of kernel density estimation for creating
smoothed maps of diseases from point based data. I don't know if this is
something that interests you, but I'd be happy to share what I've done so
far.
