Hi David,

i don´t understand... There isn´t a postgis installation option when you install postgresql 8.3... You have to do it with Stack Builder, don´t you? So theorically i have a clean postgresql 8.3 installation with no postgis. There isn´t no postgis tables or functions in the postgresql 8.3 server.
I have the old postgresql+postgis server ( the idea is to do a direct dump&restore from one server to the other). Could it be a problem?

Gus

  Hola Gustavo...

  I had the same problem...
The answer is: your postgres version includes a postgis version....

Before you install the new version, you have to unistall the older...

    Hi all,

i´m trying to upgrade my postgresql version ( it was 8.2) in windows , so i' ve downloaded and installed postgresql 8.3. When i try to install postgis 1.3.3 with the Application Stack Builder and after downloading the postgis installer, appears an error

"Error opening file for writing" ( see jpg)

everytime it wants to copy a file to the install_folder.
I was changed the directory name, i have downloaded postgis installation files from pgFoundry, i have changed to postgis 1.3.2 but nothing works.
    Any help?
    Thanks in advance,

    Gus
