[postgis-users] Pipeline Data Model

I am downtown on Main St. Small world.

As for a project with routing and so forth, I am all for it.  I have already started a project with specific routing routines for surface hydrology.  Part of this project contains a library of PostgreSQL functions written in C for doing such things as infiltration and open channel flow routing using SQL functions.  It would be interesting to extend this.  My work revolves around surface water supply planning, and I could see how a pipeline data model and associated routines would be helpful.  My other work is on developing the technical infrastructure for doing a dynamic web-based decision support system that integrates water quantity and quality monitoring, analysis, and modeling.  It has a Stella/PowerSim-like way of connecting model components, and a scenario based method of data storage for exploring what-ifs.

The PostgreSQL functions are under the package "pgSQL_hydro", and the decision support system is under "Web Hydrology Objects".

I would be willing to add a section/package for the pipeline model under the "npsource" project (and associated administrator/maintainer accounts for those who are interested), or we can set up an entirely new project for this routing model.  

I look forward to hearing from interested parties.
