[postgis-users] postgresql.conf - buffers

Hi all,
 
I have a question to the parameter "shared_buffers " in the file postgresql.conf - File.
In all Documentations the value ist a number (like 1000) as the number of shared memory buffers, but in the example-file given with the installation the value is 24KB, as a size.
What ist right ?
