Hi Balkan,

It looks as if you are using SVN trunk. SVN trunk has already branched 
for the 1.4 series and is undergoing a lot of new development -  I'd 
avoid it for any production use unless you really know what you're doing.

In terms of the upgrade, you're probably being hit a change in parser 
rules (and it's likely these will change again before 1.4 final). So in 
other words, leave PostGIS as it is and for the moment just upgrade 
PostgreSQL to 8.3.5 and you should be fine.
