Carmen,
Are you set on Conterra? If so what features do you like about
Conterra?
Is the spatial library mostly for desktop use or for server side use?
I take it you don't want to spend the money on an ArcSDE server license?
You might want to take a look at ZigGIS. I'm not sure if makes sense
for your use case though since its targeted toward the desktop
rather than server-side use.

Hope that helps,
Regina

Subject: [postgis-users] Conterra and ESRI 9.3 (part 2)

I posted a similar question yesterday, I colleague helped me with some
additional important points.........

We are currently developing a PostGIS spatial "library" and would like
ArcGIS 9.3 Desktop products to read and utilize this library through as
simple an interface as possible, ideallying using SLDs or .lyr to
symbolize the layers for the end users. Using WFS-editor might be
preferable to ESRI's rather thin "Data Interpoperability Extension"
which has no useful UI to speak of. Conterra does not provide much
info, no screen captures, and no demo. We're evaluating this approach
in parallel to a PostGIS shared backend with ArcSDE/ArcGIS Server using
PostGIS data types in Postgres.

Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks - Carmen
