[postgis-users] better index for points?

Does anyone know if SP-GiST is still available?  I never got a reply about a
password (www.cs.purdue.edu/spgist/) to access the download.  Beyond
SP-GiST, does anyone know of an existing way to use a quadtree or k-d tree
in Postgres?  I'm indexing only 2-d points and looking for something that
partitions the space.
