[postgis-users] polygons/geometry files for European provinces?

Does anyone have a good source of polygon shapes which represent European countries/provinces?
I found a few sites, such as:
https://www.sciencebase.gov/catalog/items?q=&filter=tags%3DGeologic+province
But it does not provide the political boundaries.
I'm looking for the provinces which can be displayed at a site such as:http://www.meteoalarm.eu/  (where clicking on the counties displays the provinces; those provinces are what is of interest).
Any help/links would be great.
