[postgis-users] [postgis-devel] Compiling PostGIS under FreeBSD 11

Confirmed just changing 

From:

ICONV_LDFLAGS=-lc

to

ICONV_LDFLAGS= -liconv


Fixed the issue, unfortunately I can't figure out a non-hacky way of fixing this.

I tried overriding in env variables, but that seemed ignored.  And also passing in --with-libiconv  as I do on windows to no avail.

So my hacky fix for now is to do this right after configure

rm loader/Makefile.bak
sed -i .bak 's/ICONV_LDFLAGS= -lc/ICONV_LDFLAGS=-liconv/' "loader/Makefile"

Well it almost worked.

I have to check and see if the change you had below was necessary.

Cause I noticed that my generated Makefile had

ICONV_LDFLAGS=-lc

So I changed it to 

ICONV_LDFLAGS= -liconv

And that seemed to do the trick. 

Now why the ICONV_LDFLAGS was so wrong is a mystery
