[postgis-users] ArcGIS desktop accessing and reading from PostGIS

I am not sure if this thread needs to be all this complicated.   ArcMap can
read PostgreSQL/PostGIS directly without any configuration issues.  From
the ArcMap interface, select File -> Add Data -> Add Query Layer.  From
this menu you create a connection to a database on your server with your
user name and password.  You can create as many connections as you want and
save them.  Then pick the table you want.  It even reads the SRS from
PostGIS.  Details are at:

You can save the layer as a *.lyr file with all the connection info for
others to use.
