[Proj] Proj.4 and MSys

Hi,
I am trying to use proj.4 inside the rxvt terminal that comes with MSys.
I compiled proj.4 under MinGW/MSys and it compiled cleanly.
When I run the proj.4 programs, I can run (for example) cs2cs -ld OK.
If I run (for example) cs2cs +init=epsg:4326 +to +init=epsg:4203
and then enter a pair of coordinates in stdin I get no response.
Has anyone else come across this?
It all works OK in cmd.exe - is this a problem with rxvt perhaps?
