Just a reminder: when selecting +proj=utm, the options of +k, +x_0, +y+0 are 
ignored as they are part of the definition of the UTM projection.  For 
clarity I suggest that they should not be specified as it suggest to the less 
knowledgeable that they may be indiscriminately changed.

Although +units is not overridden the default in all cases is meters (m).
