Yes, I agree. I would also shrink the documentation to absolute minimium
with lot of examples and divide it to two pieces: One pdf for the end user
who just needs information about the definition matters and the (larger) one
for the implementer who needs to know how to write programs with it.

Sure, it can be on a web page and then just take pdf print outs of it as
required.
