[pycsw-devel] 0.2.0 roadmap and release timing

FYI we have substantial enhancements and improvements for 0.2.0 release (see http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/pycsw/query?group=status&milestone=0.2.0).  I'll have OpenSearch support done for 0.2.0.

With regards to timing, we initially slated 0.2.0 release for 31 August 2011.  Relevant releases / events:

- OSGeo Live DVD 5.0 release.  We are an optional install (see http://trac.osgeo.org/osgeo/ticket/721). We'll need an updated install script (in our trunk etc/dist/install_pycsw.sh), and upload to their svn: project logo, screenshots, overview and quickstart .rst docs.  The schedule at https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=tMRaCwabv7SiIG3moHEfMrQ&hl=en_GB#gid=0 calls for final applications freeze on 04 July 2011.
- FOSS4G 2011 (September 2011)

I propose we bump 0.2.0 release for Wednesday 29 June 2011, with Angelos as release manager.  This allows us to ship 0.2.0 to OSGeo Live DVD 5.0, as well as be in time for FOSS4G 2011.

I haven't seen all the details, but I have a general idea of what happened those 3 weeks. That's a lot of work my friend!!!

I found the details about r245, no problem with that.
I updated both aiolos demos to r263. All work fine.

pycsw update: you can see from the trac logs, but, in summary:

- one config now, very streamlined and simple

- core_queryables in config approach replaced with live XPath queries against the XML in the column.  Core queryables are defined in code now.  Extremely extensible and easy to add more core queryables
- one repository now (both ISO and DC metadata, any metadata really -- like GeoNetwork)

- simplified INSPIRE support.  This surely needs review and improvements from yourself!  But the base requirement is there
- we now have a project logo!
- CSW-T is now supported.  Harvest and Transaction

Overall I think the changes above end up making the application much simpler to install/config/manage for the end user.

I'll send these along from time to time.  Again, hope all is well!
